Our Services

Dr. Helmkamp and his team are dedicated to the preservation of your health. While aesthetics are a very important key to looking and feeling your best, our number one goal is to see that your dental health is the best it can be in order to improve your overall health.

It is a well-documented fact that poor dental health contributes to, and even leads to, heart disease, stroke, pneumonia, diabetes, premature births and more.

Preservation and prevention will save you time, money and your own good health.

This screening should be performed yearly in conjunction with the oral cancer screening at the hygiene visit. Everyone should be screened especially those who are at high risk. These groups would be patients who have a history of tobacco use, frequent or excessive alcohol use or those who are over 40 years of age. Other patients at high risk are those with the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) present in/on oral tissues.

To do this exam we shine a blue florescent light into the oral cavity and look through the VELscope handpiece at the inside of the cheeks, sides and underneath of the tongue, roof of the mouth, and the back of the throat and tonsil areas. We always screen new patients at no extra charge at the comprehensive oral evaluation.
